Last night all ten of us old Lilydale Library Ladies turned up to Geeta's daughter's big night. This was the Bharatha Natya Arangetram of 15-year old Shubangi and consisted of her performing traditional Indian dances alone for 3 and a half hours interrupted only by changes from one gorgeous costume into another. There was also an interval where we fuelled up on Indian tucker.
We ten were the only non-Indians there and looked like a row of little brown sparrows among a flock of exotic parrots.
It was great to catch up and nothing had changed between us although it had been months since we'd been together.
Shubi was sensational, so beautiful and talented and did her parents proud.
